When to Play

No reservations are needed, the game can be launched once you get your team gathered at the starting line for this course.

This is a safe part of town but we always recommend finishing the game before it gets dark.

The Starting Line

Our Fort Worth course starts and finishes at Sundance Square.  Meet outside the Starbucks at 141 W 3rd Street to enter ground zero.

View this location in Google Maps.

Launching the Game

Be sure to bring the activation code that you received when you purchased the game. If you can’t find, you can retrieve your activation codes here.

Enter that activation code on http://play.metrodemic.com once you are at the starting line in Sundance Square with your entire team

Be Safe!

Please be safe out there in accordance with the KurioCity Games terms of use. Use your common sense and don’t take any unnecessary risks.

What to Expect in the Game

Home-Page-PhoneOnce you arrive at the starting line and use your activation code on one team member’s phone, the game begins.

You’ll see a map on your phone that shows locations of outbreaks and the number of lives you can potentially save.

Choose an outbreak on the map and hustle on foot to that location. Upon arriving, click “We’re There” on the phone screen to start up the challenges. Challenges are a blend of scavenger hunt questions to prove you’re there, pub-style trivia, and brain puzzles.

Every answer that you get right saves lives. People on your team are welcome to use their phones to help research the answers to questions.

Your team can pause the game up to two times for sightseeing, bio breaks, eating, or our personal favorite…. loud public arguments!

Questions?

You will find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions below, but you are also welcome to email us at metrodemic@kuriocitygames.com with any direct questions you have.

Where is the Login Button?

On a mobile device, the login will nest itself in the menu. Tap on the three white lines below the MetroDemic logo and you should see the menu open up. You can login from there.

Alternatively, you can simply navigate to play.metrodemic.com.

Do I need to enable the Location/GPS on my phone in order to play?

No, the game does not incorporate the Location/GPS feature on your phone. We recommend turning the Location settings to “off” during the game to extend your battery life.

Can we pause the game?

Yes, use the pause button in the upper right corner of the game to pause the clock for family fights, hail storms, dirty diapers, and whatever else life throws your way!

What happens if my phone battery dies in the middle of the game?

Log in using the same activation code on another team member’s phone. The game will pick up right where you left off.

The game seems to be frozen. What should I do?

First, make sure you have an internet connection. If you aren’t online, you can’t play.

If you definitely have an internet connection, our recommendations is that you simply log in using another teammate’s phone. The game will pick up exactly where you left off.

If nobody else on your team has a phone, follow these three steps:

  1. Log out of the game from the game’s home screen.
  2. Clear the cache on your browser
  3. Log back in at play.metrodemic.com

Can my teammates use their cell phones?

Your teammates are encouraged to use their phones to help you research the answers on all of our challenges. However, only one phone on the team can be used to submit answers and view the map.

What do we do if we can’t find something?

If you come across a location clue that is missing, blocked, stolen, closed, or inaccessible for any other reason, please let us know!  Every time you open an outbreak you’ll see a link that allows you to “Report a Problem at this Location.”  We check those reports and make updates daily.

If you aren’t on that page anymore, just email the details to metrodemic@kuriocitygames.com.

Can I challenge a question?

Of course!  Building MetroDemic is more of a science than an art, so we welcome any discrepancies you find.

On every answer page, you’ll see a link to “Report a Concern With This Question”.  That will send a message back to our labs with our concern, your location, and the question in, uh, question.

If you aren’t on that page anymore, just email the details to metrodemic@kuriocitygames.com.

Where can I find my score?

Your score is measured in “souls” and is always visible at the top of the screen. Your score will be added to our leaderboard once your team finishes the game.
