Sometimes this job can be quite humbling. We have a lot of fun designing our team building game as we think up different symptoms and scenarios for “The Playgue” for each city, but this week we were honored to have some teams of employees from Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco compete to save lives.
Gladstone is a community of scientists in San Francisco that works towards to overcome unsolved diseases. Sandy Williams, MD, the president of the organization, sums it up best with this quote (from the Gladstone website):
We are a community of scientists where our concern for patients and our curiosity about the fundamentals of biology are combined in a distinctive—and perhaps even unique—blend of motivation and drive. We value the best of scientific inquiry, including elegance of experimental design, leaps of creative genius and seminal discoveries that drive a deeper and more insightful understanding of biology.
As for the competition, it was a very close score between the three teams that squared off in this team bonding event! The winning team, “Team 3 – Gladstone IT”, was able to save 13,100 lives in their 90-minute game near Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco. The Gladstoners missed the victory by only 1 or 2 questions!
Thank you so much to Gladstone Institutes for being a part of our story with your company team building, but we are even more grateful for the fantastic work you are doing in the scientific community.
