Today is a very exciting day for us! After over 1,000 hours of work to build MetroDemic, our game is going to be tested by our first live teams on the Bellevue, WA course.
Just six months ago, this was literally just an idea that my wife and I exchanged in the car. That lead to mapping out a game on paper, then to foamboards with thumbtacks, then to wireframes of the product, and eventually into the hands of our two wonderful developers who bring our ideas to life.
So, back to today. I’m nervous! I’ve worked with technology for many years, but when it’s your own company being tested on real people, it turns into an odd mix of Christmas morning as a kid and waiting for the bad guy to jump out in a horror movie!
Do we think it will work today? We’re about 95% sure. But then it’s on to the real questions… Will people like it? Will people think our stories and jokes are funny? Will people leave a good review on sites like Yelp? It is quite nerve-racking.
Wish us luck that today is an amazing first step for KurioCity Games and MetroDemic. We have no idea where things are going to lead but our family has high hopes that people simply have fun today.
Darren, Kelly, Sean, Erin, Diana, Paul, Brad, Jenny, Katie, and Erin… thanks for being our guinea pigs today!
