Save the City!
MetroDemic is a game that can be played at any time in downtown Los Angeles.
Our (virtual) bumbling scientists are standing by with a map of outbreaks that are ravaging downtown Los Angeles. With that map loaded to your smartphone, your team will hustle on foot to a variety of outbreak sites within a 3-block radius of the U.S. Bank Tower.
At each outbreak site, your team will have to dig deep into your memories (or the search engine on your smartphone) to answer bizarre challenge questions on topics including the 1984 Summer Olympics, David Lee Roth, 1930’s mafia, and celebrity wedding disasters.
Get a question right and you save lives. Get it wrong… and people die. Pay attention as the story unfolds and the epidemic takes on a life of its own.
Head downtown today to play a fun game, explore the city, get some exercise, and save thousands of innocent souls from a deadly disease!!!
The game starts and finishes at the Central Library at 630 West 5th Street in Los Angeles. The areas you’ll explore include the Ketchum Sculpture Park, John Pershing Park, Bunker Hill, and the Biltmore Hotel.
All of the outbreaks for this course are located within walking distance of each other in downtown Los Angeles with the following street boundaries (approximate):
South Flower Street / West 3rd Street / South Hill Street / West 6th Street
The game is a physical activity and requires 90 minutes of walking and standing. Part of the LA course is on a hill so be prepared for stairs and steep walkways.

Team Building in Downtown L.A.
Our Los Angeles course is a great place to set up a private competition for some company team building or a social event. Learn how easy it is to host a MetroDemic group outing!
Please don’t hesitate to email email@example.com with any questions you have about playing MetroDemic in DTLA. You’ll find our most frequently asked questions below.
How many people should be on a team?
A four person team is the ideal size for playing MetroDemic.
We don’t recommend going any higher than five people per team because people are likely to be less engaged.
Do I need a reservation?
No, you don’t need a reservation or to book a starting time. The game is designed so you can play it whenever you are ready.
Where does the game take place?
This game is played on your feet while exploring a small area within the city. You will always be outside. MetroDemic takes you to see parks, interesting architecture, public works of art, and other intriguing sites.
How much walking is involved?
Each course is confined to small area downtown which is typically about 3 square blocks. The outbreak sites that you’ll visit are often less than 100 feet apart.
You’ll earn some good fitbit points, but this activity is not going to involve 90 straight minutes of walking.
Do we have to run?
Running is not required. In fact, we intentionally designed MetroDemic so the fastest team does not automatically win. The winner is going to be the team that picks the most strategic course and solves the challenges most efficiently.
Is the game appropriate for kids and teens?
Content-wise, we would qualify for a PG rating. There are some subtle adult jokes throughout the game that will fly over most kids’ heads.
For kids, decide if they are going to be able to walk around for 90-minutes. You can pause the game twice in case they (or you!) have a meltdown in the middle.
Teens with a cell phone will have a great time. If they don’t have a phone, they’ll probably just stare at their parents with contempt and wonder why you go out of your way to embarrass them at every minute of the day. Then after the game, they’ll ask you to buy them a phone. Again.
What if somebody’s phone battery dies in the middle of the game?
Any time somebody logs into the game using an activation code that is already in play, the device (phone) that was currently in play will be logged out.
We designed it this way so that if a phone gets dropped down a sewer grate or the battery dies, the team can carry on with their game on another team member’s phone.
Do I have to download an app?
The game is played on a mobile-friendly website, you do not need to download an app. MetroDemic can be played on on any phone or tablet with an internet connection.
What is the refund policy?
We do not offer refunds on unused team registrations. That being said, the code will remain active and you are welcome to use it any time in the next 6 months.
We look forward to welcoming your team for this fun (and slightly unusual) activity in Los Angeles!
